Gilded Florentine Italian Mini Gold Easel and Art Painting Frame
This mini canvas style wooden frame and easel set was made in Italy. The art features a miniature of the print ‘Music Lesson’ by Nicolas Lancret. The frame measures 3.5” tall and 3” wide. The easel measures 8” tall and stands on it’s own like a real easel.
During the Renaissance era, Florence was known for it’s fine art; specifically in painting, gold gilding and intricate designs using rare marble or wood. Florentine crafts are a century old tradition passed on by artisan guilds. These crafts were first promoted to tourists in 1865 to boost their economy and became popular souvenirs.
